Project Campanario Ecology and Community Development Costa Rica Osa Peninsula
Program Description
Proyecto Campanario, a multifaceted conservation effort of its founders and supporters, is dedicated to preserving tropical eco-systems, both terrestrial and marine, through protecting a tract of tropical lowland rain forest and its coastal zones in Costa Rica, offering environmental education programs for national and international students of all ages, and promoting tropical research and studies. Volunteers will help maintain trails, volunteer at the local school, improve the facility, and other activities to support the local community and the project.
Accommodation
Campanario boasts of a large and rugged field station with all the simple comforts of home including a large kitchen and dining hall, screened-in dormitories with bunk beds, tiled bathrooms, clothes washing area, a large front porch, and a great view.
Electricity is generated through solar panels for basic lighting and other essential power needs. Supplemental lighting is by lantern or candlelight. The water is potable, coming from natural springs.

Recreation
Campanario has a beautiful and secluded beach. The waters are usually clear and warm and the surf gentle enough to invite swimming. There is good snorkeling and great opportunites for jungle exploration.
Service Program Fee
The One Week Program Fee is $696.00 per person the Two Week Program Fee is $1296.00 per person. This includes all incountry transportation, accommodations, meals, bilingual guide, tools and equipment, project coordination, mid program recreation trip, and end of program party.
It does not pay for International Airfare (CCI will assist in getting the lowest rates for your group).
