Sustainable Development - Panama/Costa Rica/Guatemala/Nicaragua
General Information
Community Collaborations Sustainable Development Projects provide volunteers to support local communities in creating sustainable projects that bring income to poor rural communities and help to save the environment. Projects include trail building, cabin construction, bridge building, fabricating and installing interpretive signage, and support for organic agriculture.
8 Day Program Schedule
- Day 1 Depart USA
- Day 2 - 4 Sustainable Development Project
- Day 5 Recreation Trip
- Day 6 - 7 Sustainable Development Project
- Day 8 Return to USA
Accommodations
Volunteers will stay volunteer facilities that have been inspected and approved by CCI. In order to be approved facilities must have the following;
- Safe and clean sleeping areas
- Clean and functional bathroom facilities
- Showers
- Sanitary food services
- Access to medical support
- Bathroom Facilities
- Onsite communications
- Electricity
- Fresh water
Rest and Recreation
The recreation program will vary based on the location of your project. Possible activities include rainforest hiking, rafting, surfing, snorkeling and horseback riding. The mid-program recreational trip is included in the program fee.
Service Program Fee
The One Week Program Fee is $825.00 per person. This includes all in-country transportation, accommodations, meals, bilingual guide, tools and equipment, project coordination, mid program recreation trip, and end of program party.
