Steven BoisvertDirector and Founder
After, two decades of experience in conservation corps projects in New Hampshire and Alaska, I established CCI in 1994. My expertise and leadership have driven CCI to the forefront of disaster response and community development. In 2005, when Hurricane Katrina ravaged the US Gulf Coast CCI quickly mobilized 1,000 university-based volunteers for recovery efforts, benefiting both the affected communities and the volunteers. CCI has continued to be a major force in disaster response, deploying over 50,000 volunteers from 250 colleges and universities to aid communities in need. CCI has completed 100s of volunteer projects across the US, and also in Central America, South America, and in Asia. One of CCI's significant ongoing projects is in Puerto Rico, where the organization helps the island prepare for and respond to frequent hurricanes and other challenges. Steve Boisvert's unwavering dedication to service has made a lasting impact on countless lives, reinforcing the importance of community collaboration in times of need. |
Taiga Drucker-BoisvertAssistant Director of CCI
Hey there! I'm Taiga Drucker-Boisvert, I have been working for CCI for the last ten years in various capacities. I started out at CCI as a volunteer, getting my hands dirty in rebuilding efforts after events like Hurricane Katrina, which first sparked my interest utilizing my free time to make an impact. At CCI, I've been deeply involved in coordinating and managing projects that help communities bounce back stronger after disasters. My work revolves around ensuring that the recovery process is efficient and impactful, making a real difference where it counts. Over the last year I have assisted on projects domestically, in Puerto Rico, and Costa Rica. |
Heicie MartinezPuerto Rico Program Manager
I started with CCI in 2014 with the former Program Manager, my Uncle Hector Saroza (RIP), as a coordinator for a group from PRATT Institute in NY. I absolutely fell in love with it!! So after hurricanes, Irma and Maria hit PR in 2017, he called and asked me if I wanted to work with CCI, I immediately said Yes!!! Since then, I've been working and learning from him and Steve Boisvert on how to improve and be better each and every time! I am responsible for coordinating everything on a volunteer's service trip to Puerto Rico, from ground transportation meals, lodging, projects, educational activities, you name it! We try to do our best so that every volunteer feels appreciated and welcome. It is always a pleasure to see the faces of joy from the volunteers after a project and the gratitude from our partner organizations, community leaders, and every person we help!! |
